New Zealand Wool Market Report (27 July 2023)
North Island only selling today with 6,800 bales on offer. The selection consisted of 15% average colour crossbred fleece, 75/150mm, 50% good/average colour crossbred second shear bulk 75mm, 15% average/poor colour crossbred lambs 29-31 micron and 20% associated oddments.
Reasonable competition with Indian sub-continent main supported by local carpet mills, United Kingdom, Europe & China.
Fleece: Good colour crossbred fleece 2.5% cheaper. Poorer style crossbred fleece buyers favour.
Shears: Good colour crossbred second shears 2.5% cheaper. Poorer colour crossbred second shears buyers favour.
Lambs: All descriptions fully firm.
Oddments: All descriptions 5% cheaper.
Passings: 13% passed in.
Next Auction – South Island only offering 8,600 bales, 3rd August.
