British Wool Market Report ( 28 July 2020)
British Wool held an auction this week in which they offered 1.681m kgs of wool and they sold 1.120m kgs or 66.6% of it.
Prices where comparable to BW101; Fine: Hoggs No1 – 3% cheaper. Hoggs No2 – fully firm.
Ewes No1 & No2 – firm. Lt Grey – buyers favour.
Romney: Firm where sold.
Medium: Hoggs No1 – buyers favour. Hoggs No2 – 5% dearer. Ewes No1 – buyers favour to 2% cheaper.
Ewes No2 – buyers favour. Ewes Discoloured – firm to sellers favour.
Mules: Hoggs No1 – firm where sold. Hoggs No2 – unsold. Ewes No1 – 2% dearer. Ewes No2 – firm to 1% dearer. Cott grades – firm where sold.
Cheviots: Hoggs No1 & No2 – firm. Ewes No1 – unsold. Ewes No2 – buyers favour.
Cross grades – firm. Hill: All grades generally firm.
Swaledale: Buyers favour compared to when last sold.
Blackface: Medium No1 and fine – unsold. No2 & Cott grades – buyers favour.
Welsh: No1 and No2 – buyers favour.
Lamb: All grades where sold were at a similar level to the previous sale.
