Opening ceremony in Vietnam for Südwolle Group

Südwolle Group’s official opening ceremony of the Da Lat Worsted Spinning Mill and new dyehouse in Ninh Thuan province was held in Da Lat City, Vietnam in May.

Südwolle Group began its Vietnamese production in 2019, but had to postpone the opening ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company is now proud to celebrate both milestones with around 150 international guests, providing an opportunity for the company to show its latest innovations, sustainable solutions, and high-quality products.

DWS is a joint venture between Südwolle Group and Lien Phuong Textile & Garment Corporation and is one of the most modern and sustainable worsted wool spinning mills in the world. The future dyehouse will also be one of the most modern facilities of its kind, employing 90 people and capable of producing seven tons per day of premium quality dyed material. The location of the dyehouse in Ninh Thuan province enables it to run on renewable energy from the abundant solar and wind power generation facilities in the province.

The current production capacity of DWS is 45 tons/week from 14,400 spindles, with this capacity shortly increasing to 70 tons/week with the installation of an additional 7,200 spindles. DWS can produce dyed and raw white worsted yarns in 100% Merino wool and wool blends from Nm 17 to Nm 120, used in a variety of applications such as weaving, circular-, flat knitting, hosiery, and technical yarns.

As a leading producer of dyed and raw white worsted yarns in 100% wool and wool blends, the Südwolle Group, a family business founded in 1966, has production facilities and warehouses in eight countries, including Vietnam. The company’s total capacity is 26,050 tons/year for long fiber spinning and 6,000 tons/year for airjet spinning. Furthermore, there are two dyeing plants in China and Germany with a total dyeing capacity of 11,000 tons/year and wool treatment of 6,900 tons/year. Südwolle Group employs over 3,200 people in its production facilities and sales offices worldwide, including Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Africa, and the USA.

As a company, the Südwolle Group is committed to being a market leader driving sustainable solutions and transparency in the industry. The company offers all ecological standards including ZDHC, bluesign®, OEKO-TEX, and traceability certifications such as GOTS, IVN Best, GRS, RWS. Furthermore, it offers specific supply chain models to enhance transparency throughout the industry.

Südwolle Group is dedicated to being not only a spinner but a partner and service provider. The company aims to connect the supply chain, inspire and create opportunities for sharing new ideas, products, and technologies while working sustainably and transparently.
