IWTO Congress 2024

IWTO Congress 2024

The IWTO Congress, hosted this year by Wool Industries Australia (WIA) in conjunction with IWTO, is the annual meeting point for the global wool industry. It is a key time for woolgrowers, traders, primary processors, spinners, weavers, garment manufacturers to meet with retailers, fashion designers and other companies involved within the global wool supply chain.

This year, we’ll take you to Adelaide, Australia and the iconic Adelaide Oval, where you’ll be right in the heart of a vibrant city centre.  Attractions, restaurants, the Riverbank entertainment district and more await, as we welcome you to Adelaide where the first bale of wool was exported more than 200 years ago.

“An Industry Interwoven”

Taking the theme of  “An Industry Interwoven,” the programme showcases the benefits of an industry working together. Reflecting synergies throughout the supply chain, local and international speakers will present on global consumer trends, wool market intelligence, trade, health and wellness, process innovation, environment, retail trends and education for future generations.

An optional visit to two Merino stud farms takes place the day after the Congress.

A comprehensive social programme includes a formal dinner, welcome reception and cocktail party, BBQ, and tour options for partners. Trade exhibitions and displays will round out the event.

  • Monday, 15 April. Pre-Congress Day for IWTO Working Groups & Committees, with Welcome Reception in the evening
  • Tuesday, 16 April – Thursday 18 April. Congress Days
  • Friday, 19 April. Post-Congress Merino Stud Farm Visit

The venue

The internationally renowned “home of cricket” Adelaide Oval is the Congress venue. Within walking distance from the Oval are the hotels, a casino, and a friendly, world-connected city.

Adelaide is the capital of South Australia where 20% of Australia’s wool is produced. It’s also the home of one of the few processors left in Australia. It is a major centre for world-recognised wine production, and a host of other attractions will round out your experience.

This will be IWTO’s first event in this jewel of the south.

Wool Industries Australia, WIA, brings the Australian wool industry together under one banner. By strengthening commercial and environmental processes, and supporting industry relationships, the WIA aims to ensure a robust future for the Australian wool supply.
