Lanas Trinidad – New Superwash Line

Lanas Trinidad – New Superwash Line

Lanas Trinidad is proud to announce the upcoming launch of a Superwash (SW) line, expanding its traditional range of wool products and adding value and technology to Uruguay’s sheep production chain. This new line incorporates the most advanced Superwash technology currently available worldwide, offering the flexibility and adaptability needed to meet evolving market demands and environmental regulations.

This state-of-the-art installation is a key addition to the production of premium-quality wool products. Outfitted with advanced automation systems and top-tier machinery, it is specifically designed for the manufacture of high-end, anti-shrink wool tops. By applying various treatment processes, it can produce both anti-shrink and mercerized wool, resulting in fibers that are soft, lustrous, and resistant to felting and shrinkage.

The resulting products are fully compatible with machine washing and drying, and meet the requirements for total easy-care. The facility is capable of performing both traditional chlorine-based oxidation treatments and new chlorine-free technologies that are currently under development.

The intelligent process management enhances production reliability of the new line, ensures consistent product quality, improves energy efficiency, and reduces emissions — all while aligning with environmentally sustainable practices.

This production line is fully eco-friendly. It includes gas treatment systems that comply with international standards and generates minimal liquid effluents, which can be processed through Lanas Trinidad’s well-established wool combing wastewater treatment system, known for its circular approach.

With an annual capacity of 2,000 tons, the company will be ready to supply Superwash-treated wool to customers from December 2025.
