Bayramaly Textile Complex Commissions New Wool Yarn Department in Turkmenistan

The Bayramaly Textile Complex in Turkmenistan has commissioned a new wool yarn production department, expanding the facility to five production divisions and strengthening its textile manufacturing capacity.

The new department has an annual production capacity of 130 tonnes of wool yarn, processing locally sourced goat down and camel wool supplied by state-owned and private livestock farms. Using domestic raw materials is expected to reduce production costs while supporting the manufacture of high-quality yarn for export markets.

The facility is equipped with Italian-made Cormatex machinery and occupies 4,952 square metres. It includes spinning, fibre dyeing and laboratory sections. Raw fibre is washed and cleaned before spinning, with finished yarn dyed and quality tested using modern laboratory equipment.

The investment broadens the range of products manufactured by the complex, strengthens Turkmenistan’s export potential, and has created more than 110 new jobs, with production operating across three shifts.

The Bayramaly Textile Complex already operates spinning, weaving, dyeing and sewing departments equipped with machinery from leading Italian and German manufacturers. It produces towels, bathrobes, kitchen textiles and cotton yarns, while the new department marks its first expansion into wool yarn production.

Employing more than 850 people, the complex reported production worth 49 million manats during the first four months of the year, an 18.2% increase over the same period last year. Products sold under the Merw brand are marketed domestically and exported to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
