New Zealand Market Report (28 July 2022)

North Island only selling this week with 9,700 bales on offer.  Market dearer again except good colour fleece.

The selection consisted of 70% crossbred second shear 36.0 to 38.0 micron good style 75/100mm, 10% crossbred fleece 36.0 to 40.0 micron mainly average colour, 15% associated oddments and 5% miscellaneous types.  Good competition with the Indian Sub-Continent, supported by Europe, the United Kingdom and Australasian carpet mills.

Fleece: Good colour up to 5% cheaper. Poorer colour 5% dearer.

Second Shears: Good colour shears very firm. Poorer colour 5% dearer.

Oddments: All descriptions up to 4% dearer.

Passed in: 5% passed.

Next Auction: South Island only offering 5,800 bales Thursday 4th August.
