New Zealand Market Report 29 January 2025
Market eases slightly. Both Islands selling today. North Island offering 5,175 and South Island offering 7,280 bales. The selection consisted of 29% crossbred fleece good/average colour, 75/150mm, 35% crossbred second shears good/average colour, 50/100mm, 25% lambs fleece good colour, 10% associated oddments average/poor colour and 1% miscellaneous types.
Main competition on good colour wool was the United Kingdom and Europe, with China and India soaking up the poorer colour fleece. Support from Australasian carpet mills.
Fleece: Crossbred fleece all types buyers favour.
Shears: Crossbred shears 1% cheaper.
Lambs: Good colour lambs firm.
Poorer style buyers favour.
Oddments: Crossbred oddments 1% cheaper.
7% Passed In.
