Market very firm to sellers favour. North Island offering 7,400 bales and South Island offering 7,500 bales.
Selection consisted of 27% crossbred fleece mainly good/average colour.
12% halfbred fleece, 2% merino fleece, 24% crossbred second shears good colour, 50/100mm, 18% crossbred lambs good/average colour, 14% associated oddments average/poor colour and 3% miscellaneous types.
Good competition with all sectors operating. Heavy demand today was on the good colour fleece and shears.
India and Europe again the main buyers with continued support from China, United Kingdom and local Australasian mills.
Fleece: Crossbred fleece all descriptions very firm to sellers favour.
Shears: Crossbred shears all descriptions up to 1% dearer.
Lambs – all descriptions very firm.
Oddments – all descriptions sellers favour.
